Inside the warehouse, there are compact stacks of MDF panels measuring 5.65×2.25×0.8 m.

Thus, two possible fire scenarios with different characteristics have been defined: the first scenario involves a fire of a truck inside the warehouse, while the second involves the ignition of a fuel pool left by forklifts operating inside the building.

Based on literature data and laboratory tests, the ignition parameters and the fire curve of the MDF panel stacks have been defined.
Fire simulations were then launched using the FDS calculation code to evaluate the fire propagation to the MDF panel stacks.

Temperature curves were then applied to the structural elements of the warehouse, and the load-bearing capacity of the warehouse was verified for the entire time required for the evacuation of the occupants and the related collapse mechanism, which must be of an implosive type.
